PARNA began her musical training in Rabindrasangeet at the tender age of three under the tutelage of Shree Aurobindo Biswas. Alongside, she also took training in classical music and obtained her “Sangeet Prabhakar” Junior Diploma in Vocal music, in first division with distinction from Prayag Sangit Samiti, Allahabad.
PARNA then joined SURANGAMA, the renowned institute of Late Shree Sailaja Ranjan Mazumder, and continued her training in Hindustani classical music, Rabindrasangeet and Puratani. She graduated with a degree in Vocal music,Rabindrasangeet and Purataniafter nine years of training.
Later she received her training in Bengali Modern and Semi-Classical songs under the guidance of the renowned singer, lyricist and composer, "Shree Jatileshwar Mukherjee".
In the US she recived her training in Hindustani Vocal music from Shri Rakesh Chitradurga of Mewati gharana and Shri Haresh Bakshi of Gwalior gharana.Later she became disciple of Pandit Santanu Bandopadhyay of Bishnupur Gharana, son of the legendary classical vocalist Pandit Amiya Ranjan Bandopadhyay.
PARTHA received his training in vocal semi-classical music from Guru Madhusudan Chakraborty (disciple of Sangeetacharya Sukhendu Goswami and Pandit A.T. Kanan) and Guru Baidyanath Goswami (disciple of Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakravarty).Later he became disciple of Pandit Santanu Bandopadhyay of Bishnupur Gharana, son of the legendary classical vocalist Pandit Amiya Ranjan Bandopadhyay.
Besides being a singer PARTHA is also an extremely talented and popular comedian in North America for his self-written comic sketches and parodies and his outstanding mimicry of well-known personalities from Bengal.
The unique blend of melody and comedy in their shows - has brought PARTHA & PARNA numerous accolades throughout North America and in Kolkata.
